Broome Towns Sports Club has been a proud part of the Broome community since 1949, making it one of the oldest and most successful sporting clubs in the Kimberley. The club was established following the revival of Australian Rules Football in Broome after World War II, when the town experienced significant growth and rebuilding.

The Towns Football Club played its first game on 17 July 1949 against Meatworks Football Club. The team was originally formed around police officers, teachers, Public Works Department employees and local community members. The club's first colours were white singlets and white shorts. Towns won their inaugural match, defeating Meatworks 4.8 (32) to 3.3 (21).

Since those early years, Towns has grown into one of the most successful clubs in the West Kimberley. The club has played a significant role in the development of football in Broome and the wider Kimberley region, helping to create opportunities for players, coaches, volunteers and supporters across generations. The West Kimberley Football League recognises Towns as the league's most successful club, with a rich history of premiership success and community involvement.

Today, the club continues to build on this proud legacy through football and netball programs that bring together players of all ages and backgrounds. With strong family values, community spirit and a commitment to developing the next generation of athletes, Towns remains a cornerstone of sport in Broome.
